APC National Secretary: Rotimi Makinde Drums Support For Senator Iyiola Omisore

A former member of House of Representatives, Hon. Rotimi Makinde has appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across board to collectively work for the victory of Senator Iyiola Omisore in becoming the next National Secretary of the party ahead of its convention in Abuja on Saturday, March 26, 2022.

Makinde who represented Ife Federal Constituency in the 7th Assembly and a key member of SWAGA ’23 in a press statement personally signed by him on Tuesday, March 22, disclosed that Omisore’s progressive and democratic ideals is not in doubt, given his antecedent as a co-founder of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) during the military era and subsequent return to the civil rule in 1999.

He said: “I’m very sure that Senator Iyiola Omisore is going to emerge victorious in the coming APC National Convention, as no one is viable enough to compete with him. His robust antecedents as a Deputy Governor in Osun state, and as ranking Senator who also held sway as Chairman of the Appropriation Committee in the Senate cannot be wished away. He is not a small fry in politics, right from 1999 he has been consistent and of tremendous value to nation building and our growing democracy.

“I also appeal to the leadership of our great party across board to please throw their weights behind him during our National convention. Here is a true and loyal party man who possesses the qualities to lead effectively in the capacity that he is currently vying for.

His track records would always serve as an added advantage for him in his political aspiration today and always.” Makinde boldly said.

The statement continues, “I am strongly confident that Senator Omisore will be so efficient and effective in the management of the National Secretariat of our party. He truly epitomizes hard work, perseverance, doggedness, humility, diligence and patriotism and these are virtues required in our party and more importantly he will do us proud in Ile-Ife as one of our illustrious leaders.” The statement concluded.
