Oyo Govt Extols Late Queen Anozie’s Virtues
Oyo state government has extolled the virtues of the late Queen Betsy Afuluenu Anozie who died and was buried in Igboukwu, Aguata local government, Anambra state penultimate week.
Late Queen Anozie died at the age of 66 years during a brief illness at the University Teaching Hospital (UCH), Ibadan recently.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Mrs Olubanwo Adeosun on behalf of the Oyo State, the news of the death of Queen Anozie was a rude shock to His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde and the good people of the state even though they have submitted to the will of God while praying the almighty God to grant repose to her soul.
Mrs Adeosun stated further “ I write on behalf of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde and the good people of Oyo state to convey our heartfelt condolences and commiserate with the family of His Royal Highness , Eze Dr Alex Anozie , Ezendigbo of Ibadan land and Oyo state on the passing of your beloved wife Queen Betsy Afuluenu on April 7,2022”.
The SSG explained that the late Queen was a bridge builder who served as a rallying point for her husband,family and indeed the Igbo community in Oyo state apart from being an epitome of humility, warmth and selfless service just as her numerous deed would be remembered forever.
While asking the family of the Ezendigbo to accept the heart felt condolence of the state government,she prayed the almighty God to strengthen and give the immediate family as well as the Igbo Community in Oyo State the fortitude to bear the the loss.
Speaking at the reception of a thanksgiving church service held at the Salvation Army, Ibadan, the President of the Central Counci of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII)Oluyemisi Adeaga stated the imputes of the late Queen Anozie made the Ezendigbo what she is today adding that the body misses the late Queen because something significant and meaningful has gone.
Adeaga posited that God was with the late Queen when she was departing a she was a very good example of a good Christain which made her husband to radiate.
He said that she was she was a symbol of light which brings hope while this in turn brings hope and joy reminiscing that when her demise occurred the Ezendigbo asked them not to worry as God had done well with her.
The CCII President concluded that who ever God had granted life should praise God for his mercy and grace of being alive.
Speaking at the occasion, the Ezendigbo of Ibadanland and Oyo state, Dr Alex Anozie thanked everyone for the show of love and concern and support for him and his family over the death of his late wife late Queen Anozie who died at the age of 66 years during brief illness.
Dr Anozie admonished everyone to love his or her as the will enhance peace and unity wherever one is living adding that Nigerians are one inspite of the difference in culture and language.
He stated that “ wherever you are try and live in peace with your neighbour because whether you are Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba or Urhobo or whatever we are one and so live in peace with your Neighbours”
