Osun 2022:PDP Swears In LG Caretaker Committee, Vows To Resist Rigging

The Peoples Democratic Party party ((PDP), Osun State, has sworn in caretaker committee to supervise the local government affairs of the party in the state.

Dr Akindele Adekunle, Osun State PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman swore in members of the caretaker Committee across the thirty local government of the state .

CityMirrorNews reports that the five member Committee in each of the local governments are to work in synergy with the state caretaker Committee.

Speaking during the swear in Programme, Dr Akindele Adekunle, Osun State PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, charged the newly swore in members of caretaker committee to discharge their duties with all sense of responsibility and as required.

Adekunle further said that all Committee members should see their nomination as a call to service.

He said they should not see the new positions as an avenue for them to flaunt ego or overbearing significance but they should act as servants of the people

He said: “It is my pleasure to swear in members of the caretaker committee across the thirty local governments of Osun State. These 5 member Committee in each of the local governments are to work in synergy with us in our day to day activities at the state level.

“All Committee members are enjoined to see their nomination as a call to service. It is not time to flunt ego or overbearing significance. instead, it is that corner of our lifetime, to act as servants of the people.

“When we discharge our duties with all sense of responsibility and as required, we would have written our names in the green books of history and posterity as soldiers of liberation.”

While appreciating the members of the party for their commitment towards ensuring that the party emerge victorious in the July 16 governorship election, the caretaker committee chairman said they should start canvassing votes for the party flagbearer, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

“I welcome great leaders of our party to this august gathering which is another statutory leap in our quest to leave no vacuum as we brace for the task ahead of us.

“I sincerely want to commend men and women of goodwill in the fold of Osun PDP for signals of cooperation myself and distinguished Committee Members have received in the last couple of days.

“The level of support we have so far received from all angles have been a sort of ointment of encouragment which I believe, will continue to energize us in working with you all for the ultimate goal of robust victory for the party.

Like I mentioned last week, our great party cannot afford to waste a second in plugging all essential cords as we begin to move out and canvass votes with the Flagbearer of the party in the July 16 governorship election in the state, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. I repeat there’s absolutely no time to waste.”

“We have taken notice of speed of compliance with the instruction passed across to Stakeholders of the party in the local governments in submiting names that will form caretaker members across the thirty local governments of the state in line with our Committee’s rules of engagement.

“I am also particularly elated that the names submitted took cognisance of different opinions and tendencies in the party, including mandatory inclusion of at least, one woman.

“I urge us to continue to work at this pace of patriotism and productive sense of unity as this is the only way we can prove our readiness to the studious members of the public.

“Let me make it clear for sake of emphasis that this Committee was not put in place to play around, as doing so will be akin to severing expectations of the suffering masses of the state. As representatives of the national office of the party, our duty is to do everything within the spirit of constitution of the party and lay a very solid foundation for impenetrable victory at the poll, not just for us as party members but for the good people of Osun State. Remember the out of date election riggers and self confessed remote controlled poll manipulators are also in their gym, strategizing as usual. We must therefore be ready for them.”
