Easter: Edema Preaches Peace, Tolerance
…Urges Christians To Emulate Christ Virtues
The former Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC, Hon. Gbenga Edema, has urged Christians to use Easter to renew their faith in Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world and to pray for Nigeria’s peace and economic development.
In his Easter message, Edema urged the people of Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency, as well as all Nigerians, regardless of religious or cultural affiliation, to always sacrifice their time, knowledge, and skills for the advancement and development of the country.
He also emphasized the need for everyone to pray for peace, economic progress, and religious tolerance.
Edema, a lawyer by profession and a former lawmaker in the Ondo State House of Assembly gave the admonition while greeting christian faithful on this year commemoration of death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He said “The lesson of this Easter period is sacrifice. Jesus sacrifice his life, he left everything and surrender himself, the virtues that he has been demonstrating since his birth, we may not be like Christ, but we should have a semblance of his good virtues for us to have a better society.”
“As Christians, we should vow to praying for each other more at Easter to seek divine intervention and guidance for our leaders.”
He emphasized that this year’s commemoration provided another opportunity for ardent prayers for a fresh dawn and a successful future for individuals and the country as a whole.
While congratulating Christians, Edema urged people to imitate Christ’s values by being a living example for others to follow.
