We’ve Recorded Astronomical Progression — Amirul-Hajj, Moruf Ishola

Following the completion of this year’s Hajj exercise rites, the first batch of Osun Pilgrims are expected to depart Saudi Arabia on Saturday (tomorrow) July 16, 2022.

The Pilgrims who are from the State will be airlifted from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, having completed the Hajj exercise rites.

Recall that 413 out of the cleared 576 intending Pilgrims from Osun were airlifted to Madinah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday June 13, 2022, while the second batch of the pilgrims will jet out of the country on Saturday June 18, 2022.

It will also be recalled that the Osun Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board had reiterated its commitment to ensure a hitch-free Hajj exercise for all intending pilgrims from the State.

The Amirul-Hajj, Dr. Moruf Ishola, said the State had recorded an astronomical progression compared to its past records, just as he expressed satisfaction on the smooth running of the affair by the Saudi Arabian government.

Dr. Ishola, in a statement by the Administrative Secretary, Osun Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Bolaji Sanni, disclosed that a total number of 421 Pilgrims will depart Saudi Arabia for Nigeria on Saturday as efforts to ensure a hitch-free return of the rest of the Pilgrims had been perfected.

He noted that the remaining 155 Pilgrims will be airlifted on Wednesday July 20, 2022 as scheduled by the Hajji Authority.

Dr. Ishola lauded Osun Pilgrims for their peaceful conduct and for displaying high sense of comportment and decorum throughout the exercise, just as he commended the State Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola for his steadfastness and support, which according to him, had been the reason for the Board’s success story over the years.
