Day At Work: 46-Year-old Man Steals Boss Car, Cash In Lagos
A 46-year-old man identified as Samuel Harrison has been alleged to have stolen his boss’s car, cash, and some other valuables hours after resuming work in Lagos.
Harrison, who resided in the Ilaje area of Ajah in Lagos, is said to have sought a driving job from Mrs. Janet Essien of the Lekki area of Lagos, to whom the job was offered on July 9, 2022. A day which he committed the offense before he was later arrested and dragged before a magistrate court.
While the accused person was brought before a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ikeja on Wednesday under the charges of conspiracy and stealing, the Prosecuting officer, Insp. Funmilayo Akinleye told the court that the defendant committed the offenses on July 9 at the Lekki axis of Lagos.
She said the offenses contravened sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of the State.
Narrating further, the Prosecutor told the court that the litigant, Janet Essien hired the driving service of Harrison who resumed on the said date and drove his boss to a salon and where he waited outside, but surprisingly Essien couldn’t find him when she later stepped out.
“Two iPhones valued, at N600,000 and one apple laptop valued, at N550,000 were inside the car, total, N8.1million”, Akinleye stressed.
The prosecutor disclosed that the car was tracked and Harrison was eventually apprehended in Isolo.
The case which was presided over by Magistrate, Mrs. O. O Fajana, ordered the accused person to be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Center in Lagos after he pleaded guilty to having conspired and stolen his employer’s car and other valuables.
And the case was adjourned to September 28 for further hearing.
