Rep Ayeni Organises Empowerment Training, Tools For 133 Tailors, Hairdressers Across Ijeshaland

In continuation of his human capital development across the four local government areas of his Constituency, member, House of Representatives, representing Atakunmosa East/West and Ilesa East/West, Honourable Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, has empowered another 133 of his Constituents on tailoring and hair dressing.

CityMirrorNews reports that the beneficiaries had earlier undergone rigorous training on their area of interest such as tailoring, hairdressing among others.

It would be recalled that the Lawmaker had recently empowered youths in agribusiness with take off grants.

He had also distributed bags of Fertilizer, sprayers and other Agricultural materials to farmers in his constituency.

He also distributed poultry birds, feeds and cash to 60 beneficiaries, organised empowerment programme for hundreds of women artisans, all to eradicate poverty and unemployment in his constituency and by extension, Osun State and Nigeria.

He had last week donated a 500kva transform to Ifesowapo Community in Ilaje Area of Ilesa, the community which had been in darkness without electricity for about 15 years.

The latest empowerment, according to Honourable Ayeni, was the third batch of the 11th edition of his Empowerment Programme.

He added that the gesture was aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment rate among the teeming youths in his Constituency.

Honourable Ayeni who is the founder of Ayeni Foundation said he had started impacting on the lives of the people because of his philanthropic nature adding that he started the Programme in Lagos many years back before replicating the same gesture in Osun State.

He said: “I was elected into public office two years ago, so that teeming youths that can not afford formal training in different vocations can benefit in order to be self-reliant.”

He stated further, “unlike usual practice, where we cluster in ilesa for the graduation ceremony during which tools of trade will be distributed to the graduands, henceforth, the event will be decentralized to give all the Local Government areas in my constituency a sense of belonging.

“This implies ceremony will be held in batches and hosting right will be rotated among the four local government areas.”he said

The lawmaker who has been uniquely impacting on his constituents charged the youths to key into empowerment and vocational acquisition programs as an alternative route to economic viability as the nation experiences protracted economic downturn.

Honourable Ayeni who reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the people living in the four local governments made up of his Constituency enjoy dividend of Democracy also appreciated those who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the programme.

He however, used the avenue to canvass for the re-election bid of Governor Gboyega Oyetola whom he described as a silent achiever come July 16.

He said : “I want to urged you to continue to support our party ,the All Progressives Congress APC and our amiable Governor, a silent achiever who has Performed tremendously well in the last three years so as to be able to rule the state beyond this year for the people of the state to continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy.

Chief Babatunde Ayeni urged the beneficiaries to upscale their living standard by using the equipment provided for them judiciously

Two of the beneficiaries, farewo Gabriel and Ojo Esther described the gesture of Ayeni as handy stressing that provision of the equipment by the donor has relieved them of the difficulty of procuring them.

Beneficiaries of the third batch of the eleventh edition of the empowerment program who went home with their tools of trade were 86 grandaunts of tailoring and 47 grandaunts of hair dressing vocations .

Among the dignitaries at the event were Hon Gboyega Ajeleti, Hon Padma, Ijesa South constituency Woman leader, Hon Olabode Olusegun Ilesa West Chairman), Hon Fafowora Folarin(Ilesa Central Chairman), Hon kujemgbola,, Hon Ajakaye represented Hon Ajibola Famurewa, local government chairmen, wards counselors, party chieftains in the constituency and beyond, in addition to party members and loyalists of Hon L.B.Ayeni
