Obokun/Oriade: Alubankudi Steps Down For Odofin

Ahmed Saliu Alubankudi, an aspirant of House of Representatives member for Obokun/Oriade federal constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress has announced his withdrawal from race.
Alubankudi made the announcement on Wednesday on a statement obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo.
He said the decision was made after due consultation with members of the APC in Oriade ward 3, Osogbo, Lagos and Abuja, adding that he would be supporting a co-aspirant, Seun Odofin for the ticket of the Party.
“After due consultation with families, Idera Tide team, friends and party leaders at the ward 3 Oriade Local government and party faithful in Osogbo, Lagos and Abuja, I hereby step aside and support the peoples choice and man of the people Seun Odofin.” The statement by Alubankudi read in part.
Speaking with InsightMedia on telephone, the Director-General of Alubankudi Campaign Team, Mr Yemi Aworonke said the most important agenda before Alubankudi team is the reelection of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, adding that the decision was to also put an end to the insinuation in some quarters that the Governor wants to impose his in-law on the party.
“The decision to step down is best known to us. Then we probably want to quench the insinuation that the Governor wants to impose his in-law on the system and we believe that may affect the chances of the 4-4 project, which is the ultimate target.”
When asked why the decision to support Odofin, Aworonke said “after due consultation, we found out that the only man that can unseat Oluwole Oke (of PDP) is Seun Odofin. This is why we are backing Odofin for the ticket of our party. He remains the best man in the race.”
Aworonke added that his principal and the team are not afraid of Oluwole Oke and they are ready to fight him.
