Osun APC: Oyetola, Aregbesola Express Readiness To Foster Peace

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his predecessor, Minister for Interior, Rauf Aregbesola have expressed their readiness to foster peace and unity within the All Progressives Congress(APC) family in the state.

 

This is just as the members of the National Reconciliation Committee of the APC arrived Osogbo capital of Osun State to reconcile aggrieved members within the party.

 

The Nation gathered that the reconciliation committee led by former Governor of Nasarawa State, Sen. Abdulahi Adamu is set to intervene in the feud of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his predecessor, Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

 

It was learnt that the committee has notified Aregbesola and Oyetola over the meeting to reconcile them over the weekend.

 

Meanwhile, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Ismail Omipidan yesterday in a statement disclosed that the committee paid a courtesy visit on Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State at the Government House, Osogbo, in line with the party’s tradition to announce their presence and purpose of visiting the State.

 

He said, “Sen. Abdulahi Adamu disclosed that the visitation was part of efforts to begin the reconciliatory process and ensure the resolution of every contentious issue among members of the party in the State.

 

“Responding to the committee Governor Adegboyega Oyetola assured the Committee of his Administration’s absolute cooperation and support to carry out the exercise, expressing confidence in the composition and ability of the members of the Committee to dispense justice and ensure fair play throughout the exercise.

 

Similarly, Rauf Aregbesola expressed readiness to support peace and unity within the party especially in Osun State. Aregbesola through his media aide, Mr Sola Fasure explained that “The minister is in Abuja busy with national assignments but the TOP members are on the ground, Aregbesola welcome every effort to bring peace and unity to the party.

 

“I won’t be able to confirm whether he got a personal invitation to attend the meeting by the reconciliation committee but he is ready to support the party.”
