Lawmaker, Ayeni Donates 500KVA Transformer To Ilesa Community After 15 Years Blackout

Lawmaker representing Atakunmosa East and Ilesa East/West at the House of Representatives, Hon Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, has donated a 500KVA transformer to Ifesowapo Community in Ilaje Area, Ilesa, Osun State.
CityMirrorNews reports that the Community had been in darkness/without electricity for 15 years.
Ayeni during the presentation of donated transformer on Sunday, January 9, 2022 said the gesture is a fulfillment of one of his campaign promises to the community adding that as promised, he will continue to deliver effective representation to the people that would bring more benefits to them.
He said the transformer was provided because it is a critical component needed in the community for them to have electricity.
The lawmaker reiterated his commitment to ensuring that people in the four local governments which make up his constituency enjoy the dividend of democracy
He however appeal to the people of the constituency to continue to support Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the only way for them to continue to enjoy dividend of democracy is for the people to continue to support the governor and the party.
He said the APC led governemnt mean well for the people of the state.
Speaking, an APC leader, Pa Kunle Odeyemi showered accolades on Honourable Ayeni, saying the project has rekindled the hope of power generation in the community.
Odeyemi who appreciated the kind gesture of the lawmaker said that the electric transformer was given to the community, to help illuminate the area and boost economy and security of the community.
Also, community leaders, took turns to express their deep appreciation for the kind gesture of the lawmaker, promising to ensure proper protection of the transformer.
The Chairman of Landlords Association of Ifesowapo Community, Agbeda, Mr. Akinlabi Adekola ‘Alekuwodo’ also commended Hon. Ayeni for looking into their yearnings.
He said, “Honourable Babatunde Ayeni is a good representative. We told him what we were being deprived of and he instantly took it up. This is the result. You can all see it. In fact we are indebted to him.”
He urged the community residents to take security of the just installed transformer upon themselves.
In the same lane, Mrs. Adebayo on behalf of the Landlord Wives Association said the whole community of Ifesowapo appreciated Honourable Lawrence Ayeni for the provision of the transformer.
“It has been a long time since we have been yearning for this. It’s been 15 years we have been in darkness. This will bring a stop to blackness that has been the situation of the community in years. We thank God for the man of honour and integrity that look into our problem. In this community. We thank him.
“We still look forward to him building a maternity for us. We would be very grateful.”
CityMirrorNews reports that the community presented a big goat to Honourable Ayeni to appreciate him.
