NCC Gives Figure Of Subscribers Yet To Link Up Lines With NIN
— Says 72.77 Million Subscribers Yet To Obey Govt. Directive

The Nigerian Communications Communications (NCC), has announced that about 72.77 million subscribers are yet to link up lines with their NINs inline with the new directive announced by the Federal Government.
The commission stated this on Wednesday in Abuja while checking the level of compliance of the subscribers to the new government directive that all Sim Cards should be linked up with their National Identification Numbers (NINs).
From the data made available by the NCC,it was indicated that there were 197.77 million active telecom subscribers as of February 2022,out of which 125 million subscribers had submitted their NINs for verification.
Giving the breakdown of the total figure,it appeared that MTN has the highest number with 74.93 million subscribers, followed by Airtel with 55 million, Globacom with 54.99 million and 9mobile with 12.84 million subscribers.
In a related development,The National Identity Management Commission in a statement issued recently wrote: “Dear Nigerians/Legal Residents, please be informed that the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has established over fifteen thousand (15,000) NIN enrolment centres across the 36 States and the FCT.
“There are over 150 centres in 40 countries in the Diaspora for NIN enrollment.Kindly click on the link to check the NIN enrollment centre closer to you.
