Adegboyega emerges Osun Chairman Of Allied People’s Movement
Honourable Ezekiel Adegboyega has been elected to as the Chairman of the Osun State Chapter of Allied People’s Movement (APM).
Adegboyega was elected at the state congress held in Osogbo, Osun state capital,on Saturday.
Mr Kehinde Adebayo, emerged as Deputy Chairman; Mr Ogundare Kayode as Secretary; Mrs Taiwo Kareem emerged as new treasurer; Mrs Fasilat Amoo, women leader while Adeyefa Adewole emerged as state youths leader respectively.
Others are : Vice Chairman West; Hon Makinde Lukman, Vice Chairman North and Mr Asunmo Olalere as Vice Chairman Central.
Hon Olatunji Olanrewaju was elected as Organising Secretary; Mrs Momoh Hellen, state Financial Secretary, Farotade Bosede assistance women leader south; Ogungbade Mayokun Assistant . Women leader North and Mrs Oladejo Kafayat Assistant, Women leader Central among others.
In his acceptance speech, the chairman elect, Adegboyega thanked leadership of the party at the federal level and entire members of the party in the state.
“We conducted the state congress today and elected new excos. We thank God for the successful meeting.
“The focus of our meeting today is to go and work in the state, to go to to the grassroots, mobilize people and conduct elections for the people contesting under our great party for us to win the 2023 general elections. ”
“I want to urge all members of APM on the need for each and everyone one of them to go to the grassroots and start mobilizing people.”
“A new political party can emerge today and defeat the incumbent party. It depends on the way you people work, and how you convince the people in your vicinity.
“We have been elected today and we are going to work very well. We are going to become a well known party not only in the state but in the country. What we did today is being done across the country.
“By the grace of God we will defeat all the House of Representatives and House of Assembly members. I believe that when God is backing you, there is nothing that could not be done successfully”.
“There are people that will spend money and still loss. Some people will come and tell you ‘though I don’t have money but if you vote for me I will perform very well.”
“I’m 100% sure that if we can work well in our different capacities we will emerge victorious.”
Also Speaking, the newly elected secretary of the party, Mr Ogundare Kayode said there was no any internal rancour within the party saying they were only doing a kind of party restructuring so as to be able to emerge victorious in the coming elections.
Kayode noted that what they did was within the confine of law, urging the party members to remain calm and committed to the growth and development of the party.
Echoing a similar views, Mrs Fasilat Amoo, the newly elected state women leader urged members of the party especially the women to take the issue of the party with utmost importance.
She enjoined them to be faithful and truthful to the course of party urging them to eschew from anything capable of causing crisis within the party.
Recall that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had declared Allied People’s Movement executive offices vacant.
The Court sitting in Abuja, declared the continous retention of all executive officers of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, as ultra vire, unconstitutional, illegal and a direct affront to the Electoral Act, 2010.
Jutice Donatus Okorowo, held that the holding officers of the party (APM) was against the party’s constitution, hence, declaring their seat unconstitutional and void of following due process. He gave the ruling on 20 May, 2022.
