30th Ilobu Day Celebration: Residents To Benefit From IDU’s Free Medical Outreach
As part of the activities to mark 30th Ilobu Day anniversary, the Ilobu-Asake Development Union ( IDU), Saturday, disclosed that over hundred residents have registered to benefit from free medical outreach to make this year celebration a memorable one.
The event which has been planned to run for eight days, from November 5 till November 13 with lots of mouth-watering programmes.
Speaking to newsmen on Saturday,the National President of the group, Pastor Olufemi Salako, narrated how the the union planned to celebrate the day in ground style.
Unveiling programmes for the 2022 Ilobu day, Salako stressed that the union will be organizing a free health care programme that will include medical treatment and surgical operations.
“Over 100 indigenes have registered for the free healthcare programme within days of the announcement. This shall be held on Wednesday, November 9, while the concluding part – free eye examination and distribution of eye glasses for those in need – will be held on N,ovember 26, 2022.
This is one of the welfare packages this current administration of IDU has embarked upon”, he added.
Other activities scheduled to take place at the celebration are Walk for Life , INSU Commemoration Lecture, Sporting Events and Juma’t Service, while the grand finale will take place at St Paul’s playing ground, Ilobu.
In another development,Salako said the community is opened for investors, and business owners to invest,saying the union would be partnering with any business owner who wants to establish in the town by providing a friendly environment for businesses to strive within its landscape.
He stressed that Ilobu has been known to be one of the most economically viable communities in Osun State.
“Our vantage position of being few kilometers to the State capital, Osogbo has also boosted the economy of our society.
“In the last few years, we have seen growing investments in education, agriculture, services and real estate. The recent rehabilitation of Ilobu – Osogbo access road by the incumbent State Government, has taken these growth to dizzying speed. The journey from Osogbo to Ilobu is now less than 10-minute drive.
“History also attests to Ilobu as being one of the most crime free and peaceful communities in Osun State.
“The Ilobu-Asake Development Union hereby calls on well-meaning individuals and investors to capitalize on these available opportunities to invest in our community.”
Narrating some of the developmental steps he has taken to add value to Ilobu, President Salako said he believes in human capital development as a key to community and nation building, saying on November 6, the union will be unveiling Ilobu Youth Assembly.
He explained that the platform is aimed at harnessing and coordinating their contributions to the development of Ilobu.
“A lot of our current and emerging initiatives will focus on this direction while at the same time, working towards the completion of all ongoing projects embarked upon by the previous administration of IDU particularly the Ilobu Mini Stadium Project” he said.
The president therefore congratulated the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Asiru Olatoye Olaniyan, his chiefs, community leaders and all sons and daughters of Ilobu on this year’s anniversary.
And he however, called on every son and daughter of Ilobu to contribute meaningfully to this year’s celebration in order to make the annual celebration more colourful and memorable.
