UNILORIN Journeys To Get New VC As 13 Candidates Shortlisted For Interview
As the tenure of the 10th Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin about to be lapsed ,thirteen professors have been shortlisted for an interview to pave way for a new Vice-Chancellor to be appointed.
It was gathered that the present Vice-Chancellor of the University, Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, a Professor of Chemical Engineering appointed the position on October 16, 2017 and whose tenure will lapse by October,2022.
CityMirrorNews learned that 23 candidates in total applied to succeed the incumbent VC, but only 13 of them were said to be qualified enough to be shortlisted for further screening and interview.
The 13 shortlisted professors are:
1.Professor Ibrahim Ademola Katibi
2.Professor Mikhaila Olayinka Buhari 3.Professor Ahmed Shehu Abdulsalam
4.Professor Hassan Ajisafe Saliu
5. Professor Suleiman Folorunsho Ambali 6.Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole (SAN)
7.Professor Muhammed Olanrewaju Ibrahim,
8.Professor Raheem Adebayo Lawal, 9.Professor Abdulrazaq Akinola Alada 10.Professor Baki Toyin Abdulrahim 11.Professor Issac Abiodun Adimula 12.Professor Bashir Ademola Raji
13. Professor Olubunmi Abayomi Omotesho
However, interview and selection process for the position is expected to come up on Monday and Tuesday this week.
The process where three candidates will be finally Shortlisted and their names are expected to be forwarded to President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration of one who will take over from the outgoing Vice-Chancellor.
