Osun: Hoodlums Burn Aregbesola’s Billboard After Attack On Oranmiyan Building
By Aisha Oyelayo, Osogbo
Hours after the attack on Oranmiyan building, a billboard erected with the picture of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has been set ablaze by hoodlums.
The billboard, which was erected at the popular Jaleoyemi junction, Osogbo, was said to have been burnt by the thugs at the early hours of today, Friday.
Residents of the area who spoke with newsmen under condition of anonymity, said they woke up to see the billboard burnt.
It would be recalled that the same billboard was last year vandalised by hoodlums allegedly acting on the order of the Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Engr. Sola Oladepo.
This is just as some members of the APC who belonged to Alhaji Salinsile faction, were attacked at Ifon, Orolu Local Government of the State of Osun, on Thursday evening.
Meanwhile the state government has condemned the yesterday attack with a pledge to fish out the perpetrators.
The state government in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, charged the police to fish out the perpetrators of the attack and bring them before the law.
It also warned parents and guardians to be more vigilant with their children and wards, to forestall occasions where they become instruments in the hands of trouble makers.
This is as Osun government strongly dissociated itself from any involvement in the attack, saying that it was wicked for anyone to attribute such mischief to a government that had invested heavily in the peace of the state.
“The accusation that the government of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola had anything to do with Thursday’s attack on the Oranmiyan House is sad and laughable. It defies reasoning that a man who has invested so much in the peace of Osun in the last three years will descend that low.
