Why We Embarked On Emergency Maintenance Of 200km Roads- Osun Govt

Osun government says it has embarked on repair and rehabilitation of 25 major roads across the state.
The Special Adviser to Gov. Gboyega Oyetola on Transport, Mr Olatoke Olaniyan, disclosed this while addressing a news conference on Wednesday in Osogbo.
Olaniyan said the State’s Road Maintenance Agency was saddled with the responsibility of fixing all the roads.
He said the agency is presently working on major roads in Ife, Ilesa, Osogbo , Ikirun and Iwo.
The Special Adviser said Gov. Gboyega Oyetola, was committed to infrastructure development across the state.
Olaniyan added that all the ongoing road repairs and maintenance would be completed on time.
Also Speaking the Comissioner for Works, Mr Remi Omowaye, said that the state government was also rehabilitating major Federal roads across the state.
Omowaye said that government had embarked on the reconstruction of Lameco/Ifon road, which had been abandoned by the Federal Government for 15 years.
Omowaye, who noted that government was committing huge resources to infrastructure development in the state, said all the ongoing projects in the state would be completed at the stipulated time.
“Government has completed many roads rehabilitation and reconstruction in the state.
Some of the roads rehabilitation and reconstructed included Gbongan township road, Ara junction to Ejigbo , Kuta township road, among others.
“And we will continue to do more as long as we are still in government”, he said
