Obokun Residents Shower Encomium On Oyetola, Laud Monthly Food Distribution
Residents of Obokun Oriade Federal Constituency have showered encomiums on Governor Gboyega Oyetola on his developmental strides and commitment to the welfare of the people of Osun since he assumed office.
The Residents who could not hold back their enthusiasm, applauded the governor for raising the bar of governance and for displaying high sense of commitment to human and capital development in the state.
They were the latest beneficiaries of the 10th Edition of Ilerioluwa Food Support Scheme initiated by the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in cushioning the impact of COVID-19 pandemic ripped through the global space in 2020.
The Residents gave the applause during the monthly distribution of food items in some markets in the Federal Constituency.
The Ilerioluwa Food Support Scheme is a Scheme initiated by the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to provide succour to the aged, widows as well as the less privileged citizens.
Apart from the Federal Constituency earlier visited by the officials of the Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties led by the Commissioner, Hon. Lekan Badmus and the Senior Special Assistant to Governor, Hon. Samson Owoyokun, the Ministry officials took the distribution to Obokun Oriade Federal Constituency.
Among the markets visited on Wednesday including Ibokun, Esa Oke, Ijebu Ijesa, Ipetu Ijesa and Owena among others.
Among the beneficiaries of the monthly food Support who trooped out in large numbers include Babatunde Jacob, Idowu Olaniyi, Solomon Faturoti and Felicia Fafiyebi.
They commended the governor for counting the people at the Grassroots worthy of benefiting from the food items.
They vowed to resprocate the gesture by voting massively for the Governor in the coming gubernatorial election.
They prayed for the success of the present administration in the state, just as they prayed to God to grant the governor and members of his cabinet long life, strength and wisdom to continue to perform their responsibilities and contribute their quota to the development of Osun.
Speaking with newsmen, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Samson Owoyokun said the governor is firmly committed and apolitical about the scheme
Owoyokun said the Governor has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment towards delivering campaign promise in bringing succour to the aged , widows as well as the less privileged citizens.
He added that Governor Oyetola has sustained the initiative despite paucity of funds, along with other welfare policies and social intervention and infrastructural developments, with over thirty thousand bags of food items distributed to aged, widows and less privileged citizens across the state irrespective of party or religious affiliation.
The Coordinating director of the ministry, Mr. Kunle Falode ensured that the distribution of the food were orderly effected.
