S’Court Ruling: Osun PDP Rejects Babayemi’s Congratulatory Message
—Says He Was planted In PDP To Wreck Its Victory
A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Diran Odeyemi, has accused the former governorship asprant on the platform of the party in Osun, Mr. Dotun Babayemi of being an agent of the All Progressives Congress, planted in PDP’s fold to wreck it.
Odeyemi, who disclosed this in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Friday, also rejected Babayemi’s congratulatory message to Osun governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke and the PDP, after the Supreme Court had dismissed the case he instituted against Adeleke’s candidature.
He also warned other political parties in Osun against welcoming Babayemi into their folds, describing him as a political dealer who is too desperate and self centred.
The statement read in parts, “Dotun Babayemi’s congratulatory message is an afterthought and one that cannot be accepted after taking the party and the governor-elect of Osun, Ademola Adeleke to the Supreme Court where he lost out.
“I’m advising all political parties in Osun not to welcome Babayemi into their fold. He plotted to come back and wreck PDP but the plot failed and he has been expelled.
“There was a collaboration between APC and Babayemi to thwart the electoral mandate that Osun people had given to Sen Ademola Adeleke. Babayemi was a sponsored agent of the APC. He is a political dealer.”
On the pending matter before Osun Tribunal, Odeyemi noted that the Supreme Court judgement in Babayemi/Adeleke’s case was a signal to the APC, saying the ruling party should expect a similar outcome in its case against Adeleke’s victory at Election Petition tribunal.
“This should be a signal to the APC. Although, we anticipate that they will also drag their case up to the Supreme Court. The failure of Babayemi to stop God’s will should also be expected by them,” Odeyemi concluded.
