Oyo Gov Moves To Build Nigerian Air Force Base Amidst Security Tussles,Turning Area Into Aerotropolis(Photo)

The Oyo State Governor,Mr. Seyi Makinde has taken a move to construct a Nigerian Air Force Base in Ajia area of Ibadan,the state capital.
He disclosed this on Thursday at a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Ibadan where he laid blocks on the site for the erections to kick-start.
He said this would go a long way bringing the activities of hoodlums in the state to a stop.
“This is part of our efforts to expand the Oyo State economy and creating enabling environment for businesses to strive in the state, turn the area into an aerotropolis”. He added.
In his remarks during the event, Mr. Makinde commended the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao, for his laudable achievements since he assumed office.
It would be recalled that Oyo State has under-gone a tough battle in recent time, which appeared as tales of insecurity, ranging from the crisis at Igangan to the mayhem at iwo road and the assassination of an Ibadan On-Air Personality, that showcased the level of insecurity in the state.
However,Mr.Governor has reiterated his committment and pledged to adopt more security strategies to keep the state safe and secure.
He stressed further that his administration was committed to partnering with the Nigerian Air Force to improve the security atmospheric condition in state.
