By Our Reporter
The umbrella body of Private Employment Agencies in Nigeria, the Human Capital Providers Association of Nigeria, HuCaPAN, has congratulated workers on the celebration of the 2022 Workers Day. The Association also felicitated Muslims across the world on the celebration of the end of Ramadan fasting.
The Association recognised the efforts of the workers in economic growth and development, and described them as the engine room of the human capital provider’s industry.
In a statement personally signed by the Association’s President, Dr Olufemi Ogunlowo, he described the month of Ramadan as a holy one and urged Muslim faithfuls to ensure that the lessons of Ramadan is not lost on them.
He said, “It is a special day for us as a nation. Today is Sunday. Today, we are celebrating our resilient workers who are the engine room of our industry. We acknowledge their effort and we will continue to ensure a safe work environment for them.
“We will also ensure that our workers are not just treated right but at all times, conform with international standards on decent jobs.
“We will continue to be true to our mantra which says ‘that anywhere a Nigerian is working, he/she must have a decent work’.
“Again, today, we are celebrating with all Muslim Ummah across the globe especially, our members on the occasion of the Eid-El-Fitri.
“The month of Ramadan is a holy month. We acknowledge their sacrifice during this period. We urge them not to relent in doing good to all men that the month taught us.
“We urge them to not allow the lessons of Ramadan be lost on them as we wish them a wonderful celebration” He concluded.
Ogunlowo admonished the government to provide an enabling environment for business to thrive and review relevant laws and policies to further strengthen the human capital industry.
