Bishop Isaac Oluyamo of Ijesa North Anglican Diocese in Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State has charged Nigerians on the need for a renewed hope and to be optimistic about the future of the country.

He gave the charge in his new year message made available to the newsmen.

Bishop Oluyamo said despite the surge in cases of insecurities, Nigerians still have a lot to be thankful for.

“When we look back at 2021, we need to give God the glory over the situation and happenings around the world and in Nigeria. Our hope is in Jesus Christ. Psalm 25:20 says “O keep my soul, and deliver me. Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in you”.”

“We need to put our trust in God alone, not in the government. Let us put our trust in God so that He will keep our souls and deliver us. In Him we shall not be ashamed.”

Bishop Oluyamo thereafter appealed to the Federal Government to make life more feasible with people-centered programmes and initiatives as the new year commences.

He added that listening to the heart of the people would go a long way in saddling the machinery of governance.

He ended by tasking the populace to pray for the country for a more prosperous and fruitful year ahead.

“Let us keep trusting in God for our journey this New Year. Let this be a recurrent theme in our mind: “Trust in God alone. He will deliver you, He will keep your soul, you will not be put to shame. He has done it before and He will do it for you.”
