NAWOJ Commiserates Osun NUJ Over Death Of Pioneer Chairman, Lekan Awoyemi
Nigeria Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ, Osun, commiserates with journalists in the state and the family of Mr Lekan Awoyemi, the pioneer Chairman of the State Council of the NUJ who slept in the Lord recently at the age of 68.
In a release co-signed by the Chairperson Mrs Motunrayo Ayegbayo and the Secretary Comrade Abisola Ariwodola, made available to newsmen the association described the death of the Pioneer Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Osun Council, who was also pioneer Coordinating Director of the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation as painful.
The release also described the death of Mr Lekan Awoyemi as one which has left a huge and un-fillable vacuum in the heart of his family, acquaintances and Osun NUJ.
According to the release, “The announcement of the death of Mr Lekan Awoyemi came as an unexpected one, he was a lovely man with a good heart, known for his gentle, honest approach and intervention to matters.
“The late Lekan Awoyemi was a thorough bred professional who impacted growth and development on his professional body as the pioneer chairman of the Osun NUJ State Council, also, his imprints as the pioneer Coordinating Director in the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation can never be erased.
“We pray God to grant his entire family, acquaintances and NUJ body, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, may his soul find comfort with his creator”, the release added.
