Governors’ Wives Reiterate Commitment To Eradicate Gender Based Violence In Nigeria

Forum of Nigeria Governors wives has restated commitment to tackle all forms of gender based violence in their various domains.

Wife of the governor of Osun and President Ilerioluwa Development Initiative, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola stated this today while presenting a cash gift to two suviviour of gender based violence in Osun, Mrs Margaret Obaloluwa and Mrs Elizabeth Akanbi in her office at government House osogbo.

Mrs Oyetola stated that, one of the main agenda of the forum of Wife of the governors in Nigeria is to strive in all ways to ensure they eradicate any act of gender based violence in various states of the federation.

Condemning violence against women, Mrs Oyetola revealed that one of the major motive of the initiative is to restore hope to those who have fall victim of the worrisome act that is spreading in our society today through empowering the victims with various forms of assistance in order to remain more meaningful in life.

In her address, the Hon. Commissioner for women and children Affairs Barr (Mrs) Olubukola Olaboopo appreciated the forum of wife of the governor in Nigeria for the assistance through the help of wife of Governor Mrs Kafayat Oyetola for showing great concern on various gender based violence issue in our society today.

Barr Olaboopo stressed further that, most of gender based violence victim that are majorly female are always frustrated in their various family due to pains of the barbaric act.

While reacting, the survival of gender based violence and beneficiary of the forum of the wife of the Governor kind gesture who could not hide their feelings appreciated Mrs Kafayat Oyetola for her kind gesture towards them also prayed for the successful tenure of the present administration in the State.

Highlights of the programme was presentation of cash gift to the survivors of gender based violence by the wife of the Governor Mrs Kafayat Oyetola.
