Osun Govt Inaugurates PPIM-Committee On Framework For Speedy Project Delivery

Towards ensuring programmes and projects implementation and delivery in Osun, the State Government has inaugurated Programme and Projects Implementation Monitoring Committee (PPIMC) to oversee speedy projects delivery.

The PPIMC will be working on framework for the speedy projects delivery based on programme budgeted for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the government in the current year’s budget.

The Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Professor Olalekan Yinusa made the revelation in his welcome address at the State of Osun Programme and Projects Implementation Monitoring Committee (PPIMC) Retreat held at the Conference Hall of MicCom Golf Hotel, Ada in Boripe Local Government area of the state.

He maintained that the mandate of the Committee is to work with all MDAs of the government to deliver their project mandates as indicated in the budget, added that the collaboration and framework will fast-rack the development of their framework to deliver the projects timely and appropriately.

Prof. Yinusa emphasized that delivery on the programmes essentially on the state development plan by the PPIMC will be made possible on created checklists, capital budget profiling, revenue plan for the state, effective use of resources, use of framework, and monitoring with M&E template by Bureau of Social Services among others.

The Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji in his goodwill message commended Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for success on development and infrastructural programmes achieved in the state and for future success stories on projects and programmes that will be implemented.

On behalf of the cabinet members, Mr Oyebamiji reiterated their support to the government, applauded the government on maximizing the challenges faced during Coronavirus pandemic in year 2020 and how the government created strategies to overcome it without having any toll on its residents.

Also, the Commissioner for Human Resources and Capacity Building, Alhaja Latifat Giwa counted the cabinet members lucky to be part of the good team of the government of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

She reiterated that the PPIM-Committee is to network and work on ways to achieving year 2021 budget by ensuring that projects in the state are completed, while all projects will also be reviewed monthly, quarterly, and at year end.

Similarly, the Special Adviser to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Economic Planning and Budget, Mr Remi Kolajo affirmed that Governor Oyetola has appropriate cabinet members in appropriate position for them to function effectively, expressed respect on how the Governor navigated the state in the most difficult months, the Coronavirus pandemic month of March, April and May 2020.

He added that the proactiveness of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola birthed the Programme and Projects Implementation Monitoring Committee PPIMC, aimed at supporting the government on effective utilization of scarce resources on programme and projects delivery.

Members of the Programme and Projects Implementation Monitoring Committee PPIMC were drawn from the Ministries of Economic Planning and Budget, Finance, Human Resources and Capacity Building, Osun Board of Internal Revenue Services (OIRS), Accountant General Office, Bureau of Social Services (BOSS) among others.

Resource persons at the 3-day Retreat include Professor Niyi Akinnaso with a presentation titled: “Leadership, Governance and Ethic in the Public Sector Service” Delivery, and Mr Sikirulai M.Belli (SMB) with a presentation on “Inter-Agency Collaboration, Project Planning and Delivery”, among others.
