Federal Lawmaker, Ajilesoro Foundation Dole Out Cash To Pensioners In Osun

Perturbed by the financial predicament of retirees in Osun State, a non governmental organisation, Ajilesoro Foundation has dolled out cash to over 1,000 pensioners in the state.

The Ajilesoro Foundation, a foundation owns by Ajilesoro family, organised the poverty alleviation programme in collaboration with the Constituency office of a federal lawmaker, Hon Taofeek Ajilesoro of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The selected beneficiaries according to our Correspondent are members of Association of Osun State contributory pensioners, Ile-Ife zone.

The gesture according the member House of Representatives, Ife Federal Constituency was to cater for the well being of the pensioners and to assist them emolliating their financial challenges.

Honourable Ajilesoro who expressed worry over the pitiful conditions of some Pensioners after retirement called on federal government to stick to the payment of pension and gratuity of the retirees across the country.

At the Programme which was held at Enuwa Hall, Ile-Ife, the lawmaker said he would continue to initiate Programmes that would make life better for his Constituents.

The foundation had earlier issued cheque of 2 million naira to support the group in the constituency of five local government area in commemoration of independent day in October 1st.

Honourable Ajilesoro, however, complemented the efforts of the foundation with cheque of 3million naira.

Some beneficiaries who spoke during the cash distribution expressed the gratitude to Honourable Ajilesoro and the foundation, urging other Political Office holders and well Nigerians to emulate the gesture .

The pensioners however used the opportunity to appeal to the federal government to set up a investigative panel considering their entitlement.
