71st Anniversary: Old Students Donate State-of-the-art Classrooms, Library To Osogbo Grammar School
The Osogbo Grammar School Alumni Association (OGSAA) in
Osun State on Saturday donated ten blocks of classrooms and a library to the school to improve learning.
The ex-students also launched a book on history of Osogbo Grammar School.
The president of the ex-students body, Professor Micheal Ologunde while speaking at the event to mark the 71st anniversary and donation of infrastructure to the school along Iwo, road, Osogbo, said, “When I was at the school between 1967 and 1971 we had a very nice environment and structures but over the years due to lack of attention, most of the classrooms and buildings in the school became dilapidated.
“We embarked on the rehabilitation of 10 classrooms and a library. We will not stop at what we are doing but contribute more to the development of our school.
“What I realize is that the state government can not do everything but we must help the school, we put everything together at the rate of N5.2 million.”
Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State who was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Hon Folorunsho Bamisayemi, commended the alumni of Osogbo Grammar School, noting that the gesture will boost the academy, moral and ethical standard of the students.
Also, the principal of the school, Mrs Ajasegun Aluko disclosed that the classrooms will enhance the learning of the student and provide space for Junior Secondary School students.
