Insecurity: Sokoto Govt Seeks Reversal Of Telecom Shutdown
The Sokoto State Government has appealed to the federal government to restore services in areas experiencing banditry in the state.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal made the call while receiving the Governors of Borno and Gombe states, Babagana Zulum and Muhammad Yahaya who represented Governors of North East geopolitical zone in a condolence visit to the state yesterday over the recent markets attacks.

The attacks claimed many lives while several others were injured.
Tambuwal said the decision was taken at the enlarged security meeting in the state.
“The call for the rescinding of the blockade became necessary in view of concerns expressed by security outfits in the state that the outage was affecting the smooth conduct of their works.
“We have already forwarded a letter to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy to review the internet blockade,” he said
The governors however donated N20million to the state over the Goronyo’s attack.
The governors also visited the UK Jarma Academy, where 169 children orphaned by Boko Haram in the North-East are being trained.
Tambuwal noted that the visit was a soothing balm to victims and the entire people of Sokoto.
He described the visit as a clear manifestation of love and brotherhood between the North East and the North West.
