Police Arrest Yoruba Nation Agitator, Adesiyan In Osogbo
Officers of the Nigerian Police Force have arrested one of the leading Yoruba Nation agitators, Comrade Saheed Adesiyan, in Osogbo, Osun state.
Reports have it that Adesiyan was arrested at his house at 22, Dada Estate, Osogbo Friday, August 13.
It was gathered that the activist was arrested as part of the clampdown on Yoruba Nation agitators across the country.
Adesiyan who is the Deputy Coordinator, Oodua Youth Movement, had participated in a Yoruba Nation rally held on May 15, 2021.
It would be recalled that some policemen were assaulted by the Yoruba Nation agitators during the said protest.
But the leader of Ilana Omo Odua in Osun State, Mr Desmond Adekanola, who was part of the protest, had denied that the Yoruba Nation agitators carried out the assault on the policemen.
According to Adekanola, the policemen were assaulted by some miscreants who wanted to hijack the protest, commit crime and frame up the genuine protesters.
It was gathered that some of the protesters were arrested after the protest but were later released on bail the following day, following the intervention of Adekanola’s lawyer, Mr Elemide Olabode.
