By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
The Special Adviser to Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Youth and Sports, Honourable Adegboyega Adelabu Aremo has reassured youths that his principal will continue to give priority to any Programme that would bring development of the youth in the state.
Aremo gave the assurance while fielding questions from journalists in Ifon, Orolu Local Government Area of the state during a “Walk For Oyetola”, organised by Ilerioluwa Mobilisation Group (IMG).
The Osogbo born Grassroot Political mobiliser also urged the youth to continue to support the governor so as to be able to rule the state beyond year 2022.
According to the SA , he said there was the need for the youth to give the second term bid of the governor a pat on the back, considering the numbers of remarkable achievements he has recorded within the space of three years.
He noted that the governor had proved to the fact that he’s a lover of youth Development and that was why he alloted sizable number of positions to the youths in his cabinet and at the local government level.
“Apart from political appointments , there were various youth Empowerment Intervention programmes which the governor has done as part of his efforts to reduce youth unemployment in the state.
“Our amiable Governor has during the Walk to Live organised by Osun youths to mark this year International Youth Day pledged to allow youths to occupy about 30 percent of his cabinet if re-elected for another term.
“As a matter of fact the present administration gives priority on issues that concern youths because of the belief of Mr Governor in the future of the state.”
“I have made a holistic review of facts and figures and it is clear that Governor Oyetola, in the history of Osun, has included the highest number of youths in governance, particularly with the recent local government appointments
“Out of 585 caretaker members across the State, the youths who are below 40years are more than 300.
“This is highly unprecedented and that is why I felt there is need to commend the Governor for ensuring youth inclusion in governance and for breaking the jinx of youth inclusion in the nation’s politics.
“However, I want to reassure the youths that if given the chance to rule the state beyond 2022 , our Governor will continue to give priority to the programmes that aid youth Development in the state” , Aremo said
He also charged youths to embrace peace and pursue developmental objectives in the interest of the state.
The Special Adviser urged the youths not to allow themselves be used by political jobbers urging them to let their future be their priority.
Present at the Programme are ; the House of representatives member, Honourable Bukola Oyewo bukoy, SA on legislative matter: Hon kamil, Orolu local government chairman, Hon Benson and State youth leader, Hon Akinwemimo among others .
