Ojasope Denies Involvement In Disruption Of TOP APC Congress

Mr Olalekan Ojasope, A youth leader in Osun state, has debuked the allegations making the round that he led a group of thugs to disrupt the state Congress organised by The Osun Progressives (TOP) describing the allegations as an attempt to tarnish his good image.

Recall that members of the APC loyal to former Governor of the state and current Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola had on Saturday, organized a Parallel Congress where former Secretary of the party, Hon Rasaki Salinsile emerged as the Chairman.

It would also be recalled that the Congress which held at the open ground, Ladsol Pure water , Ogo Oluwa area , Osogbo was almost disrupted by hoodlums suspected to be political thugs.

However, a private radio station had in a report named Ojasope as one of the thugs who allegedly unleashed mayhem on the members of the party who belong to Aregbesola’s camp during their Parallel Congress.

Reacting, the youth leader debunked the allegations saying it was far from the truth.

Ojasope who was very furious about the allegations described it as malicious and character damaging.

He said, it’s important for a reputable radio station to always do thorough investigation before broadcasting their stories so as not to continue to mislead the public.

” On that faithful day, I came out from my house passing through GTBank enroute to stadium, nobody can testify to it that I came to Ladsol area where the said TOP members were doing their congress, let anybody that saw me there come out and testify now.”

Ojasope also urged journalist to always do their finding before going to press to avoid libel.

He also used the medium to congratulate the newly re-elected chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC in the state, Prince Gboyega Famoodun, describing his victory as a well deserved.

How, however, prayed for the successful tenure of the Chairman, just as he sought support and prayed for Governor Gboyega Oyetola in his bid to transform the state.
