Buhari Greets Nigerian Baptist Convention President, Rev Israel Akanji at 60

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has greeted the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, NBC, Rev Dr Israel Adelani Akanji on his 60th birthday describing him as a peace advocate.

In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari said that Akanji has demonstrated his love for God and humanity through his preachings.

He urged the celebrant to keeping serving the nation using his wealth of experience.

The statement reads:

“President Muhammadu Buhari warmly felicitates with President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, on his 60th birthday, rejoicing with family members, friends and the body of Christ on the auspicious occasion.

“President Buhari felicitates with the cleric for the milestone, congratulating him on a life dedicated to the service of God, country and humanity.

“The President notes in particular, Rev. Akanji’s compassion, abhorrence to violence and his biblical posture on all national issues, with clear preference for dialogue, peace and the wellbeing of society.

“The President believes Dr. Akanji’s commitment to improving the lives of many, through preaching and teaching the gospel, reveals his love for God and his people.

“He urges the religious leader to use his wealth of knowledge and experience to keep serving the nation.”

Buhari prays for the wellbeing of Dr. Akanji and his family.
