Enhance Yourselves With Agric Produce Marketing Strategies, Dr. Oladunni Charges Youths
The Executive Director, Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), Ilorin, Dr. Olufemi Oladunni has advised youths to arm themselves with knowledge on how to market Agricultural produce online so as to be properly engaged and stem the tide of unemployment.
The Agric expert made this known in Osogbo while declaring open a 4-day Online Marketing of Agricultural Products Training Workshop for Youths in the country organised by a Management Advisors Consultancy Services (MACS).
The Executive Director who spoke through the Director Audit Department of the institute, Mr Abdulrahman Raji mentained that, there are several tools which could be used to enhance farming and marketing of farm products and thereby achieving its goals.
He further emphasized that if the participants can make use of the skills and knowledge acquired in the training, it will make them more engaged and better their lots, noting that the programme is aimed at widening their skills and knowledge in Online Marketing of Agricultural Products.
In his lecture at the Workshop, one of the resource persons at the programme, Segun Olupinla who spoke on ” Agricultural Marketing Concepts” noted that a marketer of farm products needs to understand reasons for it which includes; growth of Agro-based industries; price signals; adoption and spread of new technology and employment creation.
He further spoke on the importance of marketing Agricultural products Which are: perishability of the products; seasonality of production; bulkiness of products among others.
While delivering his lecture, another resource person, Zenon Oludare who spoke on the “Introduction to Target Marketing” opine that, it is to promote Information and Communication Technology in the Agricultural sector in Nigeria; enhancing online marketing of Agricultural products awareness on- going in sub-sahara region of the Country.
The duo at the end of the lectures charges the participants to widening their horizons technologically in order to equip themselves with knowledge and change the world for the better.
