IBEDC Resumes MAPS To Sell Electricity Meters
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has re-launched the Meter Asset Provider Scheme (MAPS) to increase the sale of electricity meters.
The IBEDC Chief Operating Officer, Mr John Ayodele, stated this during a media briefing on Wednesday in Ibadan.
He said IBEDC initiated MAPS following the directive given by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to give customers the choice to purchase meters.
Ayodele, who was represented by the Head, IBEDC Strategy and Performance Office, Mr Peter Oni, said the programme was to further strengthen the mutual benefiting relationship existing between the company and customers.
He said, “We are relaunching our MAPS and want the customers to be well informed to avoid being scammed, and then fight against corruption in the system.”
He said that phase zero of the National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP) has been completed as it moves to the next phase.
