Ajipe Commiserates With Olowo Of Owo Over Chief Ilori’s Death

The Convener of Ibi Giga Ambassadors Chief Dr Alex Ajipe has expressed shock over the killing of High Chief Tunde Ilori, the Elewere of Owo Kingdom by unknown gunmen.

Ajipe also commiserates with Olowo of Owo, family and the people of Owo Kingdom over the incident.

He described the assassination of the High Chief as the ugliest form of criminality that should be condemned by all peace-loving people.

Ajipe, in a statement made available by his media aide, Solomon Adewoye, condoled with government and people of Owo Kingdom over the sad and painful loss of the prominent chief whose life was cut short in the tragic incident.

According to reports, Chief Tunde Ilori was killed while returning from where he and other Chiefs had gone to settle dispute on the order of the Olowo Of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye.

Another Chief was also attacked during the incident and currently receiving treatment at a health facility in the town

Ajipe regretted that some unscrupulous elements can still be attacking people for unknown reasons adding that “such senseless attacks are attempts to trample on law and order by those who are desperate to turn our state upside down”.

He particularly called on government and security agencies to intensify effort in ensuring that those behind the heinous crime were arrested and prosecuted.

He also urged residents of the state to be peaceful and united in order to fight against enemies of the state bent in fomenting troubles during this festive season.

He however advised the state government under the leadership of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to recruit more personnel into Amotekun to combat the increase in insecurity across the state and also to boost the security architecture of the state.

He particularly praised the Amotekun and other security agencies in the state for their efforts to make Ondo state free of criminality urging them not to relent.

He also called on the Federal Government to strengthen the security measures provided to first class traditional rulers and their Chiefs in order to safeguard them against kidnapping or been assassinated

Ajipe, however, prayed that the Almighty God would comfort the grieving family and relations at this difficult time, and grant the injured quick recovery.
