Gang Of Five Beat 35-yr-Old Woman To Pulp In Ede, Family Of Victim Seeks Justice

A thirty five year old woman Mrs Aderolapo. l. Fajobi has been allegedly beaten to pulp in Ede, Osun State by a family gang.

The Four man gang were said to have jointly beaten the woman over an alleged incessant smoking if Indian Hills and other narcotics in a shop beside the woman’s shop in Owode area, Ede.

Mrs Fajobi alleged that smokes of hemp had always affecting her costumers which according to her had been complained severally.

Arguments however ensued between her and the gang that comprised four hefty men of a particular family who later beat her to an unconscious state on Saturday morning.

Sources disclosed that the woman escaped being killed by providence as she was said to lose her consciousness and later resuscitated in an hospital.

The alleged thugs were later apprehended by the Police Officials in Ede Local Government area of the State.

The names of the suspected gang were given as; Kareem Jelili ( AKA Elesin), Kabiru Kareem and Sodik Kareem.

As at the time of filing this report, parents of the victim were mandating the suspects to a Law Court for justice to take it’s course, while the police were appealing for amicable settlement.

The mother of the victim vowed to challenge the matter in the law court if the police refuses to allow the law to take its justice.

The victim was receiving treatment in hospital at the time of this report.

When contacted, the police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola said they were still investigating the matter.

Somebody just called me this morning. We are still Investigating the matter, she said.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and other Human Rights Female Activists have shown interest in pursuing the matter to a logical conclusion.
