Unknown Gunmen Abduct Catholic Priest In Imo
Unknown gunmen have abducted a Catholic Priest, Rev. Prof. Izu Marcell Onyeocha at Ihube Community in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the community early hours of Sunday, shot sporadically, before whisking the priest to an unknown destination.
Rev. Prof. Izu Marcell is also a lecturer at Imo State University in Owerri.
He is a native of Avuru Community in Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Orlando Godson Ikeokwu told DAILY POST correspondent that some members of the community were in the station to report the incident.
According to him, “it’s just now that some members of the community came to the station in that regard.
“I will get back to you after hearing them out”, Orlando said.
Recall that the state had in recent times, witnessed unrest as the security crisis continues to deteriorate.
