Osun To Build State-of-the-art Shopping Complex In Osogbo

Osun State Government has concluded plans to construct a multi-million state-of-the-art Shopping complex in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

This was disclosed by the Managing Director, Omoluabi Holdings Limited in Osun State, Dr Babatunde Faleye, while fielding questions from CityMirrorNews correspondent in his Office, Abere.

According to Dr Faleye, the state-of-the-art shopping complex when completed would boost the economy of the state.

He said the project was part of the efforts of the present administration under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to bring people-oriented and human capital projects aimed at transforming the people of the state.

He said that the project which is billed to be executed by Omoluabi Holdings would be sited at its old office, located at Old Garage, Osogbo.

“OSICOL was established in 1992 but of recent, we changed the name from Osun state investment company to Omoluabi holdings to reflect the name that goes by the virtues of Omoluabi we pride ourselves in the state,

“So far, we have been able to contribute to the development of the state through business enterprises. We have invested in many areas. We are into manufacturing, Oil and gas, farming, property development among others.

“As at 2010, the value of the company was in a little bit less than a billion but as we speak now we are far away 10 billion worth and we are still not stopping. This is as a result of the belief and focus of the present administration.

“Former Governor Rauf Aregbesola was able to do much when it comes to developing and expanding business within Omoluabi holdings and the current administration has been doing so much to take it from where Aregbesola stopped.

“Very soon in a matter of weeks we will start the construction of state-of-the-art shopping complex at a very strategic location that will take Omoluabi to the next level, looking into the building about 176 lock up shops at our old office which happen to be the center business district of Osun state. This was only possible as a result of the belief of the current administration of Gboyega Oyetola in Omoluabi holdings. We have enjoyed so much of his support both financially and other wise and we are using this opportunity to make sure we make the best.”

Appreciating the governor for his support, Dr Faleye rated the Governor Oyetola high in projects’ implementation just has he commended his outstanding performance in the execution of developmental projects across the nooks and carnies in the state.

According to him, “Governor Oyetola has done well since he assumed office in the area of people-oriented programmes,” saying “his efforts in turning around the fortunes of the state cannot be over emphasised.”

Dr Faleye said that the entire state had become a construction site due to ongoing rehabilitation and construction of roads all over, adding that there was no local government in the state that “has not benefited from the ongoing work.

The Managing Director, who described Governor Oyetola as a good manager of resources said, “the governor has been using the resources to develop human capacity and entire state despite the meager allocation and lean purse.

“The way he handled the COVID-19 pandemic was marvellous as he made sure the entire citizenry were duly protected in all ramifications and despite the Covid 19 issue, he did not relent in his developmental programme for the betterment of the people of the state.

Mr Oyetola is a workaholic, amiable and God fearing governor in which I want other state governors to borrow example from him for them to achieve in their various state as well,” Dr Faleye added.

The Managing Director added further that the incumbent administration in Osun state remained passionate and committed to handling and resolving all issues affecting the welfare, infrastructural development and betterment of the entire people of urban and grassroots area.

“It is on record that Governor Oyetola’s administration in the state has never defaulted in meeting its commitment to workers under the Contributory Pension Scheme and has always prioritised the payment of workers’ salaries and emoluments in addition to improving the welfare package of workers across the board” Dr Faleye concluded.

“People, groups, association have been endorsing Oyetola to continue to rule the state beyond 2022 because they are able to see the effect of what he has done so far and I believe by the time Oyetola will leave office we will be writing a story that is going far different from the one we are writing now especially about the development and progress, he has decided to take us to the next level the only thing we need is to look to area we can compliment his efforts.
