Osun Govt Begins Refund Of 2020/ 2021 Hajj Fares

Osun State Government has Commenced the refund of 2020 and 2021 Hajj Fares to intending pilgrims that applied due to the cancellation of Hajj exercise.
The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal disclosed this to newsmen in his office today.
According to the Commissioner, the Board has refunded a total of One Hundred and Twenty-Eight (128) Intending Pilgrims as at today Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
The Commissioner for Home Affairs while giving a breakdown explained that Four Million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira will be disbursed to 4 Intending Pilgrims today August 10, 2021 while a sum of Twenty-Three Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira was refunded to 16 Pilgrims on the 2nd
of August, 2021.
The Honourable Commissioner further added that another Eleven Million, Seven Hundred Thousand Naira was disbursed to another batch of 8 Intending Pilgrims on the 22nd of July 2021 while a total of 11 Intending Pilgrims collected a total sum of Fifteen Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira on the 12th of July 2021.
The Commissioner further said Thirty Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira was disbursed to 22 Intending Pilgrims on the 5th of July 2021 and another Fifty Million, Four Hundred and Thirty-five Thousand Naira was also disbursed to 36 Intending Pilgrims on the 29th of June 2021. Lastly, the Commissioner disclosed that a sum of Forty-Three Million, One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira was released to 31 Intending Pilgrims on the 22nd of June, 2021 when the refund exercise commenced.
In his own contribution, the Administrative Secretary, Mr. ‘Bolaji Sanni said all Intending Pilgrims that applied were refunded their full deposits without any deductions whatsoever by the State Government.
He then urged Intending Pilgrims willing to collect their deposits to apply at the Board’s office as directed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) following the normal official procedures outlined for the exercise.
He also informed newsmen that 2022 Hajj Exercise will be based on first come, first served policy.
Also present at the interview was the Accountant of the Board, Alhaji Wale Adegbite among others.
