Lawmaker Advocates Effective, Functional LGAs In Nation

A member, Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Akure Constituency Two, Hon. Sunday Olajide has pushed for more effective and functional local governments in the country.

Olajide, who spoke with the councillors and leaders of the APC in Akure North and Akure South Local Government Area of the state about his interest in vying for the vacant seat, of Akure North/South federal constituency, said there is the need for councillors who are the legislative arm of government to perform their roles at the grassroots level.

The lawmaker who reeled out his achievements as a lawmaker in the State Assembly said the time has come for the federal constituency to have a representative at the federal level.

He said representation should not be about giving empowerments to constituents alone but bringing federal presence to the State

According to him, Akure, which is the state capital has not enjoyed federal government project since 1999 when the presentation democratic dispensation began.

Olajide promised to use his connection and wealth of experience to facilitate projects to the constituency if allowed to fly the flag of APC.

His words “There is need to help our constituency, there must be a good representation, we need to bring developmental projects to Ondo state, I am going there to change the narratives’.

Olajide, while speaking on what his Committee on Finance and Appropriation has done in the state said, “we have done well in the areas of law making to the good people of Ondo state because we are there to add value not to just sit down.”
