Supreme Archbishop of the Global Congress of Bishops and Apostles, GCBA, Emmanuel Ojo-Powerson, has joined his voice with his fellow compatriots calling for President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation saying the insecurity situation in the country has feasibly overwhelmed the president.

Archbishop Ojo-Powerson made this call over the weekend during the Consecration and Enthronement service of Reverend Joshua Adesola Olubadejo held at the headquarters of the Holy Ghost Power Assembly Worldwide, Osogbo, state capital of Osun.

The USA-based Supreme Archbishop said President Buhari has lost control in securing the life and property of Nigerians, hence, the need for him to handover affairs of the country to competent leader.

According to Ojo-Powerson, the insecurity bedeviling the country was as a result of poor governance which needed to be addressed urgently.

Proffering solutions to country’s predicament, he said the Nigeria should be restructured regionally or be split.

“I am a man of prayer, but we can not hide behind prayer in Nigeria’s situation, we need actions” he said.

“You can no longer sleep with your two eyes closed in your fatherland because of fear of attack,” he lamented

Stressing on the youthful leadership, he advised that they summon courage by taking over the leadership of the country and put the nation on the right path that will be of benefit to the next generations.

Echoing a similar view, the Director of Information of World Bishop Council In Africa, Bishop Seun Adeoye, said President Buhari should leave office now.

The bishop who wondered why the president still remained adamant in relinquishing power to another leader said if it is in a normal climate, the president would have voluntarily resigned by now.

“I am not an apostle of Nigeria dividing, if we get our leadership right, nobody will be willing to leave Nigeria for foreign countries, we are better when we are together” he said.

Also, the newly confirmed Bishop Joshua Adesola Olubadejo urged Nigerians to change their attitudes positively towards the country in order for all citizens to enjoy a nation of their dream.
