IleriOluwa New Year Raffle Draw Kicks Off, As Hausa Residents Emerge Winners
The IleriOluwa New Year Raffle Draw program, put up by Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr Remi Omowaiye, held in Ilesa kicked off in Ijesaland today.
At the program, organised for Commercial Motorists and Okada riders, which was held at the palace ground of the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, Hausa residents in the city emerged winners of the raffle draw which had prizes such as 26″ Plasma LCD TVs, Electric Kettles, Gas Cylinders, Generators, Bags of 20kg rice and Semovita, Cartons of Noodles, Standing Fans, and Home theater players, totalling 95 prizes in all.
In his address, the Commissioner for Works, Engr Remi Omowaiye described the initiative as a means of appreciating the people for their support to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, as he also described them as invaluable to the government.
He lauded Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for his commendable projects in Ijesaland and Osun as a whole, saying that the government has prioritized the demands of the peoples needs.
Speaking further, he appreciated the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) for their support, assuring that the ongoing projects by Oyetola’s government will be concluded in due course. He then solicited for the support of all towards the emergence of Governor Oyetola in his second term bid, adding that Ijesaland will always support the government of the day.
Engr Omowaiye said the raffle draw ticket were given freely to the people of Ijesaland irrespective of tribe, particularly the Commercial Motorists and Okada riders.
Hausa residents such as Abdullahi Allidu, Musa Garuba and Hussein Kazeem from Niger state were part of the winners of the raffle draw prizes as they carted away prizes such as Plasma TV, Electric Fan and Electric Kettle respectively, along with other winners’ gifts.
In his goodwill message, the Member House of Representatives, representing Atakunmosa East/ Atakunmosa West/Ilesha East/ Federal Constituency, Honorable Lawrence Ayeni, appreciated the state government for its numerous laudable projects, as he reiterated the support of Ijesaland towards the re-emergence of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as Osun Governor in year 2022.
Abdullahi Allidu from Niger state, the first person whose raffle draw number was picked showed appreciation to organizers of the program, expressing joy over his gifts and praying for the Government of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Allidu described Osun as an accommodating state and thanked the people for complementing the Omoluabi ethos of the government in relating well with the non indigenes irrespective of their tribes.
Other dignitaries at the program included:House of Assembly Member representing Ilesa West, Honorable Wale Adedoyin, DG IleriOluwa Campaign Organization who also doubles as the Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, APC party leaders, Council Chairmen and their Vices among others.
