Siblings, Four Others Arrested For Killing, Selling Heart For N15,000 In Osun
Osun State Police Command has arrested two siblings and four others for allegedly butchering a 35-year-old man, Fasesan Ayoade Moses and trading his body parts.
The siblings – 40-year-old Faseun Afolabi and Fadare Afolabi, aged 38 – and others: Adeleke Kabiru, 37, Oloyede Maruf, 39, Oseni Mukaila,24, and Badmus Sairu, 27, were paraded by the State Police Commissioner, CP Olawale Olokode at the Police Headquarters in Osogbo on Saturday.
Olokode explained that the suspects confessed to killing the victim and selling his heart to one Adeleke Kabiru at the cost of N15,000 while the head, leg and wrist were sold to Kabiru, Maruf, Mukaila and Sairu.
The CP disclosed that the suspects buried the victim’s remains in a shallow grave at Fidibomi area of Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state and that the remains had been exhumed and deposited at the morgue of UNIOSUN teaching hospital in Osogbo.
“On 24th May, 2021, the mother of the victim lodged a complaint to the Police that her son, Fasesan Ayoade Moses, aged 35, left house that he was going to studio and since then he did not return home.
“Upon the receipt of the report, police detectives from Anti-Kidnapping Unit swung into action and conducted diligent intelligence led investigation which yielded the arrest of one Faseun Afolabi.
“The suspect who initially denied to have knowledge of the whereabouts of the victim but confirmed that he knew him, finally confessed to have conspired with two of his cohorts – Fadare Afolabi and Taiwo (surname yet unknown) to kill the victim.
“They also confessed to have butchered and sold the heart to Adeleke Kabiru at the cost N15,000 while the head, leg and wrist were sold to Adeleke Kabiru, Oloyede Maruf, Oseni Mukaila and Badmus Sairu.
“In view of this fact, the investigation team took immediate action and succeeded in arresting all the suspects mentioned except the said Taiwo, now at large. The principal suspect led the detectives to Fidibomi Area of Ikirun where the victim was killed, butchered and the remaining parts buried.
“The remains of deceased were exhumed and taken to UNIOSUN morgue for autopsy. The mother of the victim identified the last cloth worn by her son (victim),” the CP narrated.
Olokode said efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect and that the arrested ones would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation.
