International Women’s Day: NAWOJ B Zone Calls For Gender Equal World
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, B Zone wants Nigerians to collaborate and forge a gender equal world.
The Vice President of the Zone, Ayaba Omobola Akingbehin made the call in a statement issued by the Zonal Secretary, Funmi Adekoya, to mark this year International Women’s Day.
Ayaba Akingbehin speaking on the theme, “Choosen To Challenge” noted that a challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change.
She stressed the need to celebrate women’s achievement, raise awareness against gender bias as well as promote equality for both gender.
“We can all choose to challenge, condemn and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to speak out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world”.
She said “A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day”.
