Osun PSP Sympathises With Victims Of Osogbo Flood Disaster
… Urges Residents To Desist From Indiscriminate Dumping Of Refuse
The Osun State chapter of the PSP comprising private waste collectors has commiserated with all those who loss their lives and properties in the recent flood disaster in Osogbo and some other part of the State.
This is contained in a press statement signed by San. Ogunbamiwo Henry Femi on behalf of other members of the association at the end of their emergency meeting on the disaster.
The association agreed with the position of the government that the flood was caused majorly by indiscriminate dumping of refuse in unauthorized places and illegal practice of erecting building on water channels while commending the Oyetola administration for steps so far taken to prevent flooding in the State.
The PSP urged residents of Osun to compliment Government’s effort towards ensuring a greater reduction in case of flood.
The PSP also called on the federal government to come to the aide of the state government in view of the magnitude of the disaster with a view to mitigating the adverse effect on the victims and to construct standard drainages
The PSP reaffirm the call on the people of the State to patronize government licensed waste collector (PSP) to dispose their waste, appealing for more stringent punishment against environmental sanitation offenders
