Group Condemns Attack On Aregbesola’s PA, Calls For Arrest Of Masterminds
By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
Osun State Chapter of Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (AGF), has called on the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Olawale Olokode and other relevant security agencies to, as a matter of urgency, fish out the hoodlums who allegedly attacked its National Coordinator, Comrade Ishola Olateju.
AGF warned that under no circumstances must the issue be swept under the carpet, emphasizing the need to urgently unravel those behind the attack and made them face the full wrath of the law.
Olateju, the Personal Assistant to the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola alongside three others were brutalised by yet-to-be identified hoodlums at a restaurant in Osogbo, Osun State Capital around 9:30 on Sunday March 28, 2021.
The suspected hoodlums, who came in an 18-seater bus, were said to have shot at and unleashed terror on Olateju and his friends who sustained various degrees of injuries.
Reacting, AGF in a statement jointly signed by the State Coordinator, Comrade Tijani Sikiru and Secretary, Comrade Yahaya Adeniji, and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo on Monday condemned the attack in its entirety.
The group expressed worry over the incident, saying members of the AGF are still regurgitating about what could have informed the decision of the attackers to carry out such a devilish attack.
“The attack on the person of Comrade Ishola Olateju, the National Coordinator of AGF by some yet-to-be identified hoodlums is sad, condemnable, and it must be thoroughly investigated.
“We are calling on the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Olawale Olokode and other relevant security agencies to, as a matter of urgency arrest the perpetrators and made them to face the full wrath of the law.”
The group, however, warned against further attacks on party loyalists, maintaining that this is capable of orchestrating crisis in the state.
