Osun 2022: APC Members In Atakunmosa East Endorse Oyetola For Second Term

…. Dissociate Selves From TOP

The second term ambition of Osun State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola on Wednesday received a boost as leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of the state have endorsed him.

The members and leaders of APC which were drawn from all wards made up of the local government, declared their support for Oyetola and affirmed their readiness to work for him.

Besides, the leaders and members of the party in the local government dissociated themselves from The Osun Progressives (TOP), just as they passed vote of Confidence on the caretaker party Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun, saying they were solidly behind him.

Thousands of members of the ruling APC who had gathered at the Headquarters of Atakunmosa East local government, Iperindo, described Governor Oyetola as a performer who has transformed the state in virtually every sector.

According to the party loyalists, it was kind heart and commitment of Governor Oyetola that brought life back to education sector saying the tremendous performance of Oyetola would convince every lover of progress that the governor should be supported to complete all he started.

While moving a motion for the endorsement of Governor Gboyega Oyetola second term in office, the state Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, Hon Taiwo Akeju said the party leaders had held an extended meeting last Tuesday, and they have agreed to work for the re-election of Governor Oyetola come 2022.

Akeju said, “we’re here as party members in Atakumosa East local government. After an extended leadership meeting on Tuesday, May 25, the party leadership agreed to work for the re-election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for another term and for the Chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun to continue his work. The party leadership also dissociate ourselves from the activities of the splinter group called TOP. We are not for TOP, we are for the APC and Oyetola.

“There is no citizen who will not appreciate Governor Oyetola for massive road construction across the state and for the ongoing Olaiya flyover project, as it is life-saving and economically impactful.

“Prompt payment of workers salary, provision of quality health care, monthly distribution of food stuffs for the aged and widows across the 30 local governments including the area Council, empowerment of youths, to mention but just few.

‘If the essence of governance is the overall development of the society, and lifting the burden of the people, Governor Oyetola has indeed done well,’ he added.

“It’s on this note that I move that all APC members in Atakumosa East local government adopt this decision. I so move.”

Seconding the motion, the Director General of IleriOluwa Campaign Organization, Hon Ajibola Famurewa; the lawmaker representing Atakumosa State constituency, Babatunde Festus Komolafe and the Commissioner for Rural Development, Segun Olanibi and the immediate past Chairman of Atakumosa East local government, Olufemi Ikujembola all eulogized the governor for his unprecedented achievements within the space of two and half years.

They said the “tremendous achievements of Governor Oyetola in health sector, education, infrastructures and human capital development are the reasons behind their endorsement.

They said that the development of Osun under Oyetola has been on fast track and they believe that another term for him will take Osun to promise land.

Also present at the event were former State Treasurer of the party, Chief Kunle Odeyemi; Ajewole Babatunde, Ganiyat Oladejo and among others.
