P.A Drags Osun Council Boss Before EFCC Over Salary Deduction

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has been petitioned to investigate the immediate Chairman of Atakunmosa East Central Local Council Development Area , Osun, Honorable Busuyi Julius Makanjuola over alleged illegal conversion of aide’s salary

Hon. Busuyi according to his Personal Assistant, Mr Agboola James while in office allegedly short paid him Ninety Five Thousand, Six Hundred Naira (N95,600) salary.

James disclosed that instead of him to receive his official payment of N95,600 monthly as he always sign the receipts , Hon Makanjuola only approved disbursement of forty five thousand naira (N45,000) without any explanation.

According to the petition filed by Mr James which was signed by his lawyer, Barrister Adedokun Adedore Esq, Hon Busuyi illegally diverted total sum of two million five hundred and fifty thousand naira (N2,550, 000) for his personal use.

“We act as Advocate and Solicitors to Mi. Agboola James Ajide(herein after called Our Client) and on his instruction this Petition is written to you for immediate consideration.

“Our client was appointed as a Personal Assistant to Honorable Busuyi Julius Makanjuola on 13 Day of February, 2019 in the Salary payroll of N95, 600:00k (Ninety Five Thousand, Six Hundred Naira) for monthly.

“But, it is an unpalatable experience when, immediately after our Client and Honorable Busuyi (Julius Makanjuola were sworn in that the Salaries of our client was short paid by honorable Busuyi Julius Makanjuola.

“When our client found out this abuse of Office and illegal conversion of his salaries, he challenged the Honorable which subsequently led to a compulsory resignation.

“It is our Client further brief that between the period that our client worked as a Personal Assistant, the total sum of N2,550, 000:00k (Two Million Five Hundred And Fifty Thousand Naira) had been illegally deducted from his salaries and illegally converted into personal use of the Honorable Busuyi.

“All the Photocopies of the Teller Receipts of our Client are hereby attached for ease of reference.

“It is against this backdrop that, we passionately appeal to your humble and active Office to invoke all relevant Sections of Law against these illegal and corrupt acts.

While speaking with our correspondent Hon Busuyi denied the allegations describing Mr James’s claim as frivolous and a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image.

Hon Busuyi said he and Mr James were very close friends who he had worked with him for almost two years and was paid accordingly.

He, however, accused Mr James of threatening his life since he seized to be his Personal Assistant without submitting letter of resignation.
