The Local Government Chairmen in Osun on Wednesday unanimously passed vote of confidence on the State Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Hon. Samuel Idowu Abiodun.

The Council Chairmen also reaffirmed their loyalty to his leadership which they described as one of the best in the annals of Local Government Adminstration since the creation of the State.

This is even as they threw their weights behind the Administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, saying they are with him 100 percent.

The 69 Local Government Chairmen gave the endorsement and reaffirmation, during their meeting in Osogbo.

At the meeting, the motion for the vote of confidence was moved by the Chairman, Irepodun Local Government, Barrister Adegoke Ogunsola and seconded by the Chairman, Egbedore South Local Council Development Area, Hon. Ajao Adekola Akeem, after which it was unanimously passed by the entire ALGON members.

Speaking on behalf of the Council Chairmen, Ogunsola noted that the decision was informed in view of the tremendous achievements the State Chapter of the ALGON had recorded over the years.

They commended the leadership traits and administrative acumen which Hon. Samuel Abiodun had brought to bear in managing the affairs of the Association.

According to them, the State Chapter of ALGON had recorded monumental achievements through the quality of leadership provided by its boss as manifested in the encomiums received from the people.

“We deem it fit to renew our loyalty, commitment and support for the ALGON Chairman whose tenure had brought about a drastic change and monumental achievement.

“As you can see, the entire members of the Association had given their supports to him for his high sense of dedication, commitment, loyalty, civility, unity and peace which he has been able to engender so far.

“We want him to continue to lead us on the right path and positive direction he has been towing which had yielded positive results for us in many ways.

“We are equally using this medium to reaffirm our collective support to the Administration of Governor Oyetola. We are for him 100 percent and we will continue to support him, work for him and ensure his re-election,” the Chairmen added.

Speaking after the open show of love from his colleagues, the ALGON Chairman who doubled as the Chairman, Ifedayo Local Government, Hon. Samuel Idowu applauded his colleagues for their support all along.

He said their collective resolution to support his leadership would continue to be treasured and seen as a challenge to do more.

“I am very happy that this is coming from my colleagues today. This is a testimony to the fact that we are united, resilient and formidable as an indivisible entity.

“To me, this is a challenge to buckle up and scale up efforts towards building a united front that would be the pride of all particularly the people of Osun and Nigeria as a whole.

“We will not relent to champion the people’s welfare at the grassroots and ensure peace at our various domains.

“We are resolute to the re-election bid of Mr. Governor come July next year and by the grace of God, our party- the All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious at the poll,” he added.
