HuCaPAN Hopes for Economic Recovery in 2021
By Our Reporter
The Human Capital Providers Association of Nigeria (HuCaPAN) has urged Nigerians to be hopeful of economic recovery in the new year 2021.
The Association stated this in a press release signed and issued by its Executive Secretary, Mr Olajide Afolabi today, Friday, saying that COVID-19 significantly contributed to the current recession in the country. He said that 2020 was a difficult year as a result of the pandemic stating that there would be economic recovery in 2021.
“The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic breakout in Nigeria in March 2020 and the subsequent measures put in place affected all sectors of our economy. This significantly led to loss of jobs and capitals. The human capital industry was equally affected.
“With breakthroughs in vaccines against the deadly virus, it is expected that the impact of the pandemic would not be as much as it was last year.” He said.
Afolabi used the opportunity to wish all HuCaPAN member-companies and indeed Nigerians, a happy new year. He prayed that the new year shall record great success in the outsourcing industry in Nigeria and across the globe.
“I want to congratulate all our members for the grace to witness the new year. I pray that this year shall bring an exponential growth in the outsourcing sector.”
“I want to urge licensed companies that are third party employers (outsourcing) to join HuCaPAN so as to weed the industry of quacks.”
The Human Capital Providers Association of Nigeria (HuCaPAN) is the umbrella organisation of licensed recruiters in Nigeria, also referred to as Private Employment Agencies (PEAs).
The aims of the Association, among others are to develop and promote International Labour Organization (ILO) standards and ethical practices in recruitment, development and management of outsourced personnel. The Association was midwifed by the Nigeria Employer’s Consultative Association (NECA) and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, with international guidelines from the ILO.
