2021: Osun Monarch Urges Nigerians On Patriotism To Promote National Devt
The Olowu of Owu Kuta in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State, His Royal Majesty, Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude, has charged Nigerians to be more patriotic in the New Year, 2021, to promote national development.
Oba Oyelude who gave the charge in his new year message said there was the need for all and sundry to keep the flame of patriotism aglow more than ever before.
The monarch said: “As we all have been granted the divine grace to witness the dawn of a new year today, I would like to seize this opportunity to urge my fellow compatriots to keep the flame of patriotism aglow more than ever before.
“We cannot pretend that in unity lies strength. So, as patriotic citizens of this great country, we must not in anyway, by our actions or inactions, encourage or support the divisive antics of some elements among us.
“Once again, as I have said at different fora, our patriotic Army and security agencies deserve a lot of kudos and less knocks.
“For some time now, the hitherto fragile peace in the country has continued to be threatened by activities of some unpatriotic elements.
“But our valiant Army and security agencies have risen to the challenge gallantly , making huge sacrifices to ensure our safety, day and night.
“For this, I would like to urge us all to continue to give them moral and spiritual support, among others, to ensure our collective victory over the enemies of this country.
“I wish to also appeal to our teeming youths, whom we all look up to as the future leaders of this country, to begin to see themselves as worthy agents that God can use to midwife the birth of the Nigeria of our dreams.
Happy New Year
